When I decided to compose my Best Books of 2010 post, it was no surprise to me that many of the books that I wanted to include would be considered YA. I enjoy reading YA, although I am not myself. And this year, there were many great YA books that I read. I've divided them up into different categories, and presented the Best in YA in no particular order.
Contemporary
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Songs for a Teenage Nomad by Kim Culbertson
The DUFF by Kody Keplinger
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
Historical
Contagion by Joanne Dahme
Cate of the Lost Colony by Lisa M. Klein
UK release
Wintercraft by Jenna Burtenshaw (renamed: Shadowcry for U.S. release)
Denotes: Books that will not be published until 2011, but I read in 2010
Amy & Roger and The DUFF were on my best of 2010 list too :) (first post here: http://thelifeoflale.blogspot.com/2010/12/highlights-of-2010-part-i-for-hopeless.html)I'm such an evangelist for A&R- definitely one of my all-time favorites, and made me desperate to take a road trip!
ReplyDeleteHi Lale! I actually put off reading Amy and Roger for a while, because I really don't read a huge amount of contemporary YA, but I loved it!
