HBG #8: Listen AND Read YA
I've talked about my new love of audiobooks before on the blog, and even had a June Is Audiobook Month giveaway. I know that many people are still wary of trying them out. Hey, buying an audiobook from the bookstore is EXPENSIVE! But, my library has a really extensive collection of playaways (audiobooks loaded onto an mini player sort of device, where headphones can be plugged in to listen.) and I am a member of Audible, so I really get a good deal. If you missed out on, or didn't win my June Is Audiobook Month Giveaway, here is your chance to try out an audiobook by a fabulous YA author.
Don't like what you hear? Can't follow the story just by listening? The winner will win an audiobook of Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson AND a print paperback!
Want to win? Rules:
1. Must be 13+
2. All HBG Giveaways end on July 12, 6pm EDT
4. Comment with the last audiobook you listened to, or a book you think would be good to listen to.
Make sure you check out the other HBG Giveaways currently in progress:

Read My Mind Giveaways
I'm a writer, aspiring to that higher plane of becoming a published author. I love books in all their forms, be it electronic or print (though obviously, there is nothing like the texture of a book in my hands!). I want to share that love and meet others who feel the same.

It's terrible, but I haven't listened to an audiobook in its entirety since last summer, when I read Angel Experiment by James Patterson.
ReplyDeleteI really want to hear Linger by Maggie Stiefvater in it's entirety. I did get it from my library, but I didn't listen to the whole thing. Mostly just the singing bits :)
Thanks for the giveaway! Happy birthday!

The last audio book I listened to was Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks. I picked up a used copy for cheap. I only just started listening to them and I have to admit I really like it for a change or when my eyes feel just too tired.
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds good! Thanks for the giveaway!

Last month I listened to Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz. I could really use a new audio book.

I have never listened to an audio book. I should. It sounds wonderful. I would begin with something familiar. I would love to have the Harry Potter books read to me. I know my children would enjoy this with me.

I have not heard of Sweet Scarlet and would love the chance to read or listen to it. The last audiobook I listened to (it has been a while), but I believe it was a Dorothy Gilman Mrs. Polifax adventure, which are absolutely delightful - or it possibly was a J.A. Jance, J.P. Beaumont book again thoroughly engaging. Both are worth series looking into and reading or listening to. Thank you for the lovely giveaway opportunity today and for sharing birthday delights with us. Again good thoughts are sent your way!
