I'm a writer, aspiring to that higher plane of becoming a published author. I love books in all their forms, be it electronic or print (though obviously, there is nothing like the texture of a book in my hands!). I want to share that love and meet others who feel the same.

Autism Awareness Blog Hop 2012
Welcome to Read My Mind's stop on the Autism Awareness Blog Hop. Autism is a disorder close to my heart, since I've spent the last 8.5 years being caretaker, tutor, friend, and companion to a young boy with Asperger's Syndrome (a disorder on the higher functioning end of the autistic spectrum).
To find out more about Autism and autistic-spectrum disorders, or to find a resource if someone close to you has Autism, start with Autism Speaks. There are also many organizations on and off-line that can help and provide support.
Autism In Fiction:
I've decided to contribute to this hop by giving away a book that features a character with Autism or Asperger's Syndrome.
Pick Your Poison:
One winner will be able to choose 1 (one) book from the following group
Enter Via Rafflecopter:
Follow the directions from rafflecopter to make your entry count

Halloween Booktacular! Great Halloween Reads
My Great Halloween Reads from 2011:
5.
Frost by Marianna Baer
Seemingly perfect house, but with unexplainable and odd happenings. Leena's descent into isolation and her roommate's life in danger made this book suspenseful and intriguing.
4.
The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff
Yovanoff knows how to write a book with spooky elements, suspense and monsters wit human faces.
3.
Lips Touch by Laini Taylor
This was one of the creepiest books that I have read in a long time. Taylor has a way with descriptive passages, and her collection of stories is perfect to read by flashlight
2.
Graveminder by Melissa Marr
Marr has a solid adult debut here. Though different from what I've come to expect from the author of the stunning WICKED LOVELY series, it's definitely a winner.
1.
Cryer's Cross by Lisa McMann
Definitely a spooky read, and one that can be read in just a few sittings, if not less.
WINNER
The House of Dead Maids by Clare B. Dunkle
This was an audiobook read for me, and it was fantastic and creepy and just perfect for a fall night.
And now... for a giveaway:
FURY by Elizabeth Miles
If you have a U.S. mailing address, you can enter to win a signed copy of FURY! I'm not leaving out my international followers, though. If you live outside of the U.S., you have the chance to win your choice of FURY by Elizabeth Miles or DEARLY, DEPARTED by Lia Habel from the Book Depository.
Please comment answering this question to enter: What is the spookiest book you've read this year? (doesn't have to have been published in 2011)
Rules:
-- One U.S. winner will receive signed FURY by Elizabeth Miles OR one International winner will have winner's choice between FURY or DEARLY, DEPARTED from the Book Depository
-- Must be 13+ to enter
-- Comment answering above question, and include U.S. or International, and a way to contact you
